Grading:

Students will receive a check, plus, or minus on sketchbook, classroom exercises, and other small assignments.  Larger projects will be given a letter grade based on the following criteria:

a)    Creativity…is it interesting, inventive, imaginary? ____  /20  pts

b)    Good use of the Elements of Design: lines, shapes, color, texture, space: ____  /30  pts

c)    Effort…did I do my best?  Did I hand the assignment in on time? ____  /40  pts

d)    Craftsmanship…did I make it neat? ____  /10  pts

                                                                                  Total Points:  _________  /100 pts

Progress Report:

About half-way through the semester, students will be given a Progress Report based on a scale from 1-3, 3 being the best.  Their progress will be evaluated in the following areas:

STUDENT...
Arrives on time?
Demonstrates appropriate behavior?
Raises hand before speaking in class?
Listens quietly while others are speaking?   
Actively participates in class?
Follows directions?
Brings necessary supplies/materials?
Demonstrates cooperative attitude?
Grasps knowledge of subject?
Does his/her best work?
Demonstrates effective use of time?
Participates in clean up time?
Completes tasks/assignments given?
Completes assignments on time?

Final Grade:

Students will receive a final letter grade based on the following areas:  active participation, effective use of time, completion of tasks, ability to follow directions, cooperation, grasp of knowledge, and effort in all assignments.
