Education:  Certified K-12 Art Teacher

Teaching Philosophy:  Unlike many other art classes, I teach students the "why" about art.  These are not classes where we just "make stuff" without studying and planning, but in our class time, students are expected and encouraged to think!  We will learn art history, art criticism, art philosophy, and art vocabulary, along with art production.  A discipline-based approach provides a true art education, otherwise known as D.B.A.E.  Art should be respected as any other "discipline" such as mathematics, music, reading, science, writing, etc.  Students really respond to this type of learning environment and are excited to understand how to express themselves through their art more effectively!

Interests:  I love to sing jazz, play tennis, workout, and study holistic ways of living and eating!  See some of my art examples by using the pull down menu under "Contact" above.  For my photos, see the Gallery page, and all over the website!
